Case Summary: Owens & Minor, Inc.

Minor did not want to pass up. This case explains the strategy Balderdash and his team approached to attain the bold with Ideal. The year prior to the bid, O&M was struggling to contain Its costs while trying to understand the profitability of their customers and services. By the end of 1995 the company had encountered an $1 1 knew that he needed to reevaluate the company's costing and pricing methods If they wanted to even be considered in winning the Ideal contract. Palavered and the team were concerned with their current cost-plus pricing method.Cost-plus signified that the customer paid a base manufacturer price plus a mark-up added on by the distributor. This allowed for drawbacks like customers engaging in â€Å"cherry-picking† and only enabling the distributors to manage low-margin, inexpensive products. This method also tied O's fee to the value of the product rather than the value of the service. The complexity of the pricing structure made it difficult for purchasing manager to track actual product costs or compare quotes from competing manufacturers and distributors. The company did more than what was being paid for. Their tasks included: Own and manage the inventory for the manufacturer Take on the financial risk associated with the function of managing the inventory flow to the hospitals Care for product returns Carry the receivables (cash flow issues due to long payment terms of customers) Carry and manage most of the inventory for the hospitals (stockpiles at times) Track and verify â€Å"customer prices for contracted product purchases† and â€Å"monitor agreements between end-users and manufacturers†.Owens & Minor creates a clear value-add for both manufacturers and suppliers. O&M takes the full responsibility for all parts of selling a product. On the other hand customers don't want to buy and own products before they are ready to use It. Thus O also enables them to achieve more efficient structures, while reducing addition al costs related to managing efficiently. The best decision for this company Is to follow activity based costing and develop that Into activity based pricing.Customers were requesting efferent types of services such as products to be packaged In smaller units and having stockpiles programs. Valves and his tea hoped that activity-based pricing system would align fees with services, reliving O of the burden of unprofitable customers. Using the BBC method would enable the company to evaluate their cost drivers and make efficient decisions based on that data. Although, Palavered and his team submitted a flexible plan where they offered to use both pricing methods, it method proving that they can be leaders in changing the market.

Analysis of the Poem “Variations on the Word Love” Essay

The writer of the poem Margaret Atwood was born in November 18, 1939 in  Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She is not only a poet, but also a novelist, a literary critic,  an essayist and an environmental activist. And she is an excellent writer, a winner of the Arthur C. Clarke Award and Prince of Asturias award for Literature. Her genres of writing include historical fiction, speculative fiction, science fiction, and dystopian fiction. The theme of the poem â€Å"Variations on the Word Love† by Margaret Atwood  is that there is a wide range of types of love that are expressed differently. The poem mainly composes of two parts. Firstly, she explores the word â€Å"love† and how widely it is nowadays used. And secondly, Atood related her own personal experience about love. In the first stanza, Atwood described the commercial side of love, making â€Å"love† seem insignificant. An example would be one of her line: â€Å"for those red heart-shaped vacancies on the page that look nothing like real hearts.† This line shows that how commonly that the symbol of love is used in commercial ways, thus depreciating the value of love. Later in the poem, Atood also described the patriotic feeling that soldiers in the battle fights upon in the line â€Å"they shout it. Love! Love! Sing the soldiers, raising their glittering knives in salute. This shows that there are other types of love exist beside the romantic ones. As well in the last stanza, Atood explored her relationship with her husband within the topic of the deep connection they shared with each other. Through the poem, Atwood had revealed several forms of love, and how love can take on different meanings. She portrayed the theme effectively through her outstanding writing. Many poetic devices were used in the poem include enjambment, repetition, and imagery. Enjambment is used throughout the whole poem. For example, in the last line, Atwood used line breaks abruptly and meaningfully to emphasize  the phrase â€Å"hold on or let go†. This invites the readers to focus on the struggles of love. Also, the poetic device, repetition is also used in the poem. The word â€Å"love† is repeated several times in line 11, 19, and 34. In line 23 and 24, â€Å"too† is also repeated. And in line 34, repetition is used through the word â€Å"again†. Some examples of imagery are used in this poem as well. Such as in line 19 and 20 of the poem, Atwood describes soldiers’ love for their country through a very vivid image â€Å"Love! Love! Sing the soldiers, raising their glittering knives in salute.† Another example would be in line 31 to 36 of the poem, the complicated feeling of love was described by Atwood as â€Å"Itâ€⠄¢s a single vowel in this metallic silence, a mouth that says O again and again in wonder and pain, a breath, a finger-grip on a cliffside.†

Cell Culture Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Cell Culture - Essay Example The number of giant cells should be low and fixed (MSUM, n.d.). The cell line selected for the study is rat coronary artery adventitial fibroblasts (Jenkins et al., 2007). The advantage of this selection is the fact that these cells have an important role in developing arteriosclerosis and plaque development (Jenkins et al., 2007), they divide rapidly and can differentiate into myofibroblasts (Jenkins et al., 2007) so those cells and their role in cardiovascular diseases can also be studied by the same culture instead of culturing the cells separately. Also, the culture permits the sole role of fibroblasts to be studied without the influence of other cells on them (Jenkins et al., 2007). The limitation of this cell line is that they have not been studied much before (Jenkins et al., 2007), so their response to different stimuli has not yet been fully determined (Jenkins et al., 2007); therefore, they might show unexpected behavior during

Sustainable Construction - Dissertation Example The concept of lean production started as a response to the perceived problems of Engineer Ohno, the maker of Toyota, to fordism (Womack, Jones, Roos, 1990), which prior to 1950s, was the primary theory that supported and enhanced the concept of mass production. Though, mass production had in itself some goods that have given humanity and the contemporary world a new face , it has failed to integrate the crucial factor in the production process – human beings coming together to create some value from that which is raw. It is in this perspective that the innovativeness of the Egan and Latham report is distinguished marked for. As the two reports dwell on the apparent underachievement of the construction industry, both have shown that there is an alternative means that can surge forward the house building industry and global competitiveness. The key is the application of the basic principles of lean production to the construction industry in the United Kingdom; .which in Koselaà ¢â‚¬â„¢s term came to be known as lean construction. The concern regarding the status of construction industry is of vital importance for the industry is perceived as an indicator of the health of an economy since â€Å"no industries play a more vital role than housing, energies, and autos†. In fact, â€Å"Construction is hugely important to the economy accounting in 2002 for 8.2% of both Gross Value Added and Gross Domestic Product with output at  £102.4 billion in 2004 current prices†Ã‚

The Pro's of Umbilical Cord Care (Triple Dye & alcohol) Research Paper

The Pro's of Umbilical Cord Care (Triple Dye & alcohol) - Research Paper Example Some of the methods were unsterile ad resulted in serious infections such as neonatal tetanus. Current umbilical care practices vary across different regions but have limited neonatal complications. Triple dye plus alcohol is one of the modern umbilical care treatments with several pros. The Pros of Umbilical Cord Care Using Triple Dye and Alcohol Regimen The kind of neonatal care given to newborn babies has great impact on the baby. Umbilical treatments aim at preventing infections during the cord separation. Umbilical cord is the cord that connects the baby with the placenta. It is mainly made up of blood vessels and acts as the connection between the mother and the foetus. After birth, the cord separates from the placenta, the cord stump dries and eventually falls, and the wound heals eventually. During the cord separation process, substances may collect and accumulate at the point of connection leading to infections. The cord takes about 5-15 days to separate. The umbilical stump provides a possible entry for bacteria. Therefore, there is need for use of appropriate treatment to aid the separation process, drying, and healing of the wound without infections. Antimicrobials are used to treat the umbilicus to fasten the cord separation and prevent bacterial colonization and other related complications of nursery infections as well as omphalitis. However, different antimicrobial work differently and may determine the time taken for cord to separate. Additionally, they may regulate the probability occurrence of any infections. Use of triple dye together with alcohol for treatment of umbilical cord is becoming a popular treatment for umbilical cord. The objective of this paper is to investigate the pros of Umbilical Cord Care using Triple Dye & alcohol. This analysis provides insights on how umbilical care impacts on nursing care. The paper will entail critical analysis of recent and relevant research related to the pros of using triple dye and alcohol in umbili cal cord care and make a conclusion regarding this method of nursing care. Triple dye is considered one of the most effective regimens for treatment of umbilical cord. A single application of the dye has been proved to prevent infections. However, the results are even better when triple dye is used together with alcohol. Studies have demonstrated that 90% alcohol is better in enhancing umbilical cord drying than other regimens such as povidone-iodine and Chinese herbs. Additionally, it has been proved that different regimen work differently in regions with different climatic conditions. However, some studies have shown that separation and healing occurs faster when Triple Dye is used together with alcohol. Discussion: Pro of Using Triple Dye Together with Alcohol for Cord Treatment    Umbilical cord care is one of the most important aspects of neonatal nursing care. This is because it greatly determines the health condition of the infant in the early stages after birth. Additional ly, the effectiveness of the care determines the survival rate of infants. The time taken for cord separation is greatly determined by the regime used for the care. Several studies have been done to establish the effectiveness of different regimes in determining the time taken for the cord to separate and the rate of infections following cord separation. The studies have established that the kind of regime used

The theme of this novel is the tragedy that befalls those who are incapable of realizing the change of times and stick on the values and manners of a bygone era . Don Quixote gives Sancho all kinds of promises including that of the governorship of a newly conquered island, and the foolish squire believes in all that completely. The ludicrous situations created by this pair going out in search of adventures are of unending interest

Principle and Effectiveness of the concept Rule of Law in the UK Essay

Principle and Effectiveness of the concept Rule of Law in the UK - Essay Example The principle behind the rule of law is that there ought to be sureness in law, such that every person can regulate his or her own dealings accordingly. Even though in UK, it is often argued that it seeks to prevent any arbitrary law making by governing officials or inferior courts, critics argues that it is a complex mixture of principles and sub-principles, with the major contention being on what extent the law allows discretionary powers to be applied. Nevertheless, individual liberties extremely depend on the rule of law, such that its effectiveness hinges on the undertaking of trials through jury or the lack of prejudice from judges. Critics also observe that the success of the rule of law principles hinges more so on its prerogative orders, such that it offers the executive the opportunity to rewrite the principles, in order to attain supposed exigencies of a given political situation as recently. Thus, the aim of this paper is to discuss the principle and effectiveness of the concept Rule of Law in the UK. ... out limiting any exercise of discretionary authority whereby laws are founded on standards with significance given to procedures such that it only allows the implementation of Parliament legislative powers while limiting implementation of legislative authority by the executive. Therefore, legislations are prospective instead of retrospective with an underlying moral foundation for every law. Focus is on having rules and procedures, which can make certain that laws are applied in safeguarding rights instead of being avenues of legitimising exercise of powers. Thirdly, the UK notion of justice is based on interpersonal adjudication and judicial precedent, as the rule of law is not about individuals having to account to arbitrary pronouncements made by governmental officials, but it is about individuals guiding public officials actions by referring to what is barred by plainly defined laws. Hence, decisions made by those in authority or any other public official are exercised based on t he powers that have been reasonably conferred to them, and in good faith. In particular, it calls for the government to offer adjudicative procedures, which are fair, and that avenue that have no prohibitive expenses or filled with inordinate delays are offered in resolving disputes5. Effectiveness The effectiveness of the rule of law has been achieved in UK is because freedom is about accounting only to well-defined and earlier developed laws instead of answering to arbitrary or discretionary proclamation of those in administrative powers. Notably, the separation of powers principle is the one that safeguards the principles, since it calls for admission to courts and those in authority to observe intentions judicial review. As such, disputes are settled based on the law and not the

Authenticity Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words

Authenticity - Research Paper Example To neutralize gender norms, most women deliberately assume traits related to masculinity, and hence turn away from associations with women sets that may be alleged as being separatist or divisive. Women should stop shunning particular jobs due to gender norms. Women should grab their papers and join the world of manly jobs. Look, for instance, at Hollywood, engineering firms and pilots – women have fit into these industries in style. What women need is to believe in themselves and avoid the cultural beliefs which do no good to them (Uhl-Bien et al., 2012). Managers should assist their subordinates in discovering their talents as well as themselves by being a role model to them. Being a role model helps the subordinates borrow a leaf from the manager. By mentoring them â€Å"be like me† helps in discovering themselves since they try to imitate their bosses’ style. Through close monitoring, the managers are able to know their subordinates’ talents, thus knowing where they work best (Lubit,

Different ways of looking at health - Essay Example â€Å"Health promoters need to be clear that what they do involves certain values and principles about what is ‘good health’ and health promotion† (Naidoo and Wills, 2000, p.130). Advances are likely to come from laboratory science that will not only assist the medical science professionals develop better drugs but also they will help them get deeper knowledge regarding working of the human body. Drug use should never be recommended as a permanent treatment for anyone. â€Å"A drug may be legal or illegal, harmful or helpful, such as those substances used in medical therapy† (Isralowitz, 2004, p.2). There exist some other drugs such as Amphetamines, Cocaine, and Marijuana, which are strictly prohibited in most of the countries including USA. American superiority of products Essay Example for Free

American superiority of products Essay Looking beyond the military reasons for continuing such a relationship, one must consider how the export relationship is offering benefits to the United States in terms of research and development. Understanding this point requires one to understand the very nature of the American-Chinese export relationship. With high-technology products, it is not a simple question of dictation. The U. S. companies are not just sending over products for the sake of pure profit. Instead, the two countries work together to develop better technologies, and each has taken a more active role in pursuing new technologies. It is important to keep in mind that there is much we can learn from the Chinese industry leaders, and they understand the mutual benefits, as well. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce indicated this fact in an address on the importance of its American relationship. They wrote, â€Å"Despite the frictions in bilateral trade, the two governments are increasingly mature in dealing with Sino-US economic and trade ties. Strengthened cooperation and equal consultation are becoming the keynote of Sino-US economic and trade ties. Trust is the foundation of cooperation. Thus in developing high-tech trade with China, the US side should regard the Chinese side as a partner that it could sincerely cooperate with† (Chinese Ministry of Commerce, 2010). This quotation indicates the level of mutual respect that seems to exist between the two countries, and offers an enlightened view on what seems to be a symbiotic relationship. As that address goes on to state, the relationship between American and Chinese companies is an important one both in practice and in theory. Consumer confidence and shareholder confidence is bound to be at an all-time high when these mutually beneficial export relationships are at play, at least in the opinion of the Chinese. That same address goes on to say, â€Å"MOFCOM and DOC have signed the Guidelines on the Development of China-US High Technology and Strategic Trade to guide and regulate bilateral high-tech and strategic trade development. According to the Guidelines, MOFCOM and DOC have agreed to take civil aviation and aerospace and information technology as the first batch of priority areas of expanding bilateral high-tech trade, and meanwhile the two sides are drafting cooperation plans† (Chinese Ministry of Commerce, 2010). The issue of promoting cooperation with a powerful country is one that the United States should be interested in moving forward. The United States must also take a broad view at the global markets in today’s world, seeing the realities for what they are. Though China has jumped up to third on the list of US export destinations, it still lags behind to some extent in high-technology products. According to a report by the Global Times, this is because American high-technology export controls are restricting the types of items that can be shipped to China. That report stated that â€Å"digital machine tools, certain fiber materials, and electronic devices† (Global Times, 2010) were among those items that could not be shipped without tight licensing practices. The American regulations are being reconsidered, but at current time the government is looking to restrict how much technology China has to work with for military purposes. What the American government needs to recognize is two-fold. First, the current global climate and American-Chinese relationship is such that neither country could ever afford to go to war with the other. Secondly, the products that the United States is restricting are available through other sources around the world, meaning that China has the ability to import them from places other than the United States. This is hurting American companies, who would otherwise be able to take advantage of a huge potential market in China. The Global Times article states, â€Å"The US is no longer the sole owner of many technologies. Many items in the export control list are being sold freely elsewhere in the world by non- US competitors† (Global Times, 2010). The article goes on to note the fact that the Chinese would be much more willing to import American goods in these categories than goods from other countries, both because of the previously stated working relationship and the American superiority of products. It states, â€Å"China has a large appetite for US exports in almost every area where the US has a competitive advantage, such as machinery, aerospace, new materials, biotechnology, agriculture, and services† (Global Times, 2010).

Biblical Terms Used in Counseling Essay Example for Free

Biblical Terms Used in Counseling Essay Dr. William Roberts LaTonia Watkins Liberty University COUN 501 December 18, 2009 Abstract The topic of counseling has been up for discussion for sometime as it relates to the spiritual or biblical aspect versus the worldview or secular concept. There has been some disagreement in regards to whether or not one can be a Christian counselor who have a level of morals and ethics that will allow them to not let their own personal beliefs affect the level of service they provide, when faced with an issue that goes against their beliefs. Upon conducting a biblical word search for counsel or counseling related terms it becomes evident that the core principles and foundation of counseling is found throughout the bible. The information obtained will detail the usefulness of the Bible in engaging in a meaningful as well as effective counseling profession. Biblical Terms Used In Counseling There has been much dispute as to the usefulness and validity for using biblical concepts in counseling. The most common disagreement is found between counseling professionals and Christian counseling professionals. Pride (2006) states, â€Å"psychology approaches human behavior from a secular, humanistic perspective. † Accordingly, Biblical revelation is irrelevant to understanding or changing human behavior. Psychology seeks to describe and explain human behavior apart from what God has clearly revealed. Its premises are derived from man-made theories, human wisdom and research conducted without a corresponding search for truth as God defines truth. Clinton and Ohlschlager (2002) have a different opinion of counseling and prefer using the Bible stating â€Å"secular psychology begins with a study of man’s ideas; Biblical counseling begins with a study of the Word of God as it relates to human behavior and human need. Therefore it is dependent upon the revealed mind of God rather than the easily deceived mind of man. † However it does not begin with God, it follows a path that lines up with the Word of God and examines man’s problems in light of God’s responses. The two aforementioned viewpoints are clear cut examples of the differences in opinions and viewpoints for counseling from a secular perspective as well as the religious perspective. Another view of counseling attempts to integrate religion/biblical views or perspectives with psychological counseling which is known as the secular-humanist view. Some view counseling as a process of prayerfully and sensitively listening to another person (Proverbs 18:13, 17), helping discern soul needs and providing biblical advice towards changing the attitudes and behaviors towards modeling God. The goal of this paper is to demonstrate the validity of the Bible as a source for counseling and to expand the overall view of counseling perspectives. By examining words and concepts in the Bible as they relate to counseling the relationship between the two will be discovered. Using Biblical concepts adds depth and enriches the counseling relationship (Pride, 2006). Also addressed in this paper will be the ways of Biblical terms and their relationship to modern counseling concepts. Biblical counseling terms can provide a useful tool for counseling as well as allows for an understanding of counseling concepts in the field of counseling. Biblical Words Related to Counseling Counsel The term counsel is found to be translated 80 times throughout the King James Version of the bible which includes 74 verses between the Old Testament and the New Testament combined. According to the word search the term counsel is used interchangeably with several terms in the bible such as advise (Qal), consult (Nipal) and conspire (Hithpael). Judges 18:5 â€Å"They said, ‘Oh, good- inquire of God for us. Find out whether our mission will be a success. †Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ In this passage they are seeking (consult) God for his guidance (advise) in regards to the outcome of their mission. I Kings 12:8-9 â€Å"But he rejected the counsel of the elders and asked the young men he’d grown up with who were now currying his favor, ‘What do you think? What should I say to these people who are saying, give us a break from your father’s harsh ways- lighten up on us’? † This passage also shows an example of someone seeking advice in their situation. Mark 3:6 â€Å"The Pharisees got out as fast as they could, sputtering about how they would join forces with Herod’s followers and ruin him. † This scripture details how the Pharisees consulted together and decide that they would join forces with Herod’s followers and go against Jesus. John 18:14 â€Å"It was Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it was to their advantage that one man die for the people. † In this scripture Caiaphas is advising (counseling) the people on Jesus dying for the people. Advise The word advise has 947 different translations in 873 versus in the King James Version of the Bible and is derived from the Hebrew word ya-ats, meaning to know, learn to know, to perceive, see and discern, to name a few. These translations were only referenced to the Old Testament according to Blue Letter Bible; however after cross referencing with Crosswalk, New Testament scriptures were listed as well. Exodus 18:19 â€Å"Now listen to me. Let me tell you how to do this so that God will be in this with you. Be there for the people before God, but let the matters of concern be presented to God. † This scripture details Moses father in law advising him to be there for the people, however to allow God to handle everything and work things out for them. I Kings 12:6 â€Å"King Rehoboam talked it over with the elders who had advised his father when he was alive. ‘What’s your counsel? How do you suggest that I answer the people? ’† In this scripture the King is seeking to be counseled and advised from the elders as to how he should treat the people. Acts 21:21 â€Å"Theyve been told that you advise believing Jews who live surrounded by Gentiles to go light on Moses, telling them that they dont need to circumcise their children or keep up the old traditions. This isnt sitting at all well with them. † In this scripture they are discussing getting advise as to whether they should follow the traditional teachings of Moses and allow their children to be circumcised or if they should go against tradition. Help The word help appears 126 times in 117 versus throughout the King James Version of the Bible the Old and New Testament according to Blue letter Bible. Help is listed as to help (Qal), succor (Niphal), or support (Hiphil) which is defined as to give or provide what is necessary to accomplish a task or satisfy a need; to contribute strength or means to; render assistance to; to cooperate effectively (Webster 2005). Genesis 2:18 â€Å"God said, ‘It’s not good for the Man to be alone; I’ll make him a helper, a companion. ’† In this scripture help is being used in the form of God giving Adam a companion in order for him to no longer be alone. Mark 9:24 â€Å"No sooner were the words out of his mouth than the father cried, ‘Then I believe. Help me with my doubts! ’† In this scripture the father of the demon possessed boy was seeking Jesus’ help with casting the demon out of his son. The father was acknowledging that he had a need of Jesus and that he knew that Jesus could help him, although a part of him had doubts, I would venture to say it was because the disciples had tried to cast the demon out of the boy and were unable to do so. Advice The word advice appears 9 times in 9 versus in the King James Version of the Bible and is derived from the Hebrew word dabar, meaning speech, word, speaking, thing. II Samuel 19:43 â€Å"And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said , We have ten parts in the king, and we have also more right in David than ye: why then did ye despise us, that our advice should not be first had in bringing back our king? And the words of the men of Judah were fiercer than the words of the men of Israel. † In this scripture they are seeking advice as to why they were not sought out first as to the decision regarding bringing back the king. I Corinthians 1:10 â€Å"I have a serious concern to bring up with you, my friends, using the authority of Jesus, our Master. Ill put it as urgently as I can: You must get along with each other. You must learn to be considerate of one another, cultivating a life in common. † In this scripture Paul is giving the people advice on getting along with each other and learning to be considerate. Discussion After completing this assignment and getting the information and knowledge gained from this course I can say that my view of counseling has changed. Although I have read the bible many times, and I am taking up Professional Counseling, it did not occur to me until this assignment how the bible is definitely the foundation for any counseling practice. When you look at some of the terms used to describe Jesus in the text,( i. e. Master, Teacher, Counselor, etc. ) it puts things in to perspective as to where the foundation of counseling began. Jesus is the central focus of counseling and the exemplar of the Wonderful Counselor. The Bible is about counseling, giving both understanding of people and methods of ministering to people. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and wisdom is the only worthy goal of counseling. (Carson, 2005). The Bible is authoritative, relevant and comprehensively sufficient for counseling. God has spoken to every issue that humans could possible face in the 66 Books of the Bible, which establishes the goal of counseling, how to change, what the role of the counselor is, counseling methods and so much more. The Bible’s view of counseling defines a distinctive ideal for how we as humans should live. The image of Christ is a familiar item in Christian profession, but its implications are often ignored when it comes to counseling. Much of the difficulty of counseling consists in sustaining suffers in hope through the comforts of the gospel. Counseling is simply the personalized ministry of the Bible, tailored to the particular situations and problems of individuals and small groups. In Genesis, God led the way when he was talking to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden regarding the decision they made to disobey his word and follow the serpent. Although this is a clear cut example of God counseling the two (advising, consulting, teaching, helping, etc. ), I don’t think we (society) really looks at this situation in regards to a counseling aspect. Models of spiritual counseling in the Bible can serve as important templates for counseling in the professional (secular) as well as the Christian aspects. The emphasis on communication and relationships implies the concept of involvement which is dependent on availability to council (Acts 20:31) and the importance of balance in the process of counseling, (Galatians 6:2 and 6:5). Conclusion There are so many more words that are found in the counseling sector that are used throughout the Bible this paper only included a few. Hathaway (2009) talks about Proverbs and Psalms being gold mines of wisdom and consolation relevant to counseling. The words from the Bible relating to counseling enhances counseling and are deemed appropriate as they relate to counseling outside the Christian realm. A concern that arose while doing the research is that the Biblical counseling aspect is non-subjective and refers to the counsel and the instructive power of God through the Holy Spirit. Biblical words in counseling are the foundation from where counseling stems, which reiterates that there is nothing new under the sun as it relates to what can be found in the Word of God. McMinn (1996 )states scripture and the counseling approach God enjoins, treats all of human life. The Bible’s counseling, on which we must seek to model our own counseling, speaks to the gamut of problems in living. Scripture comforts the disturbed and disturbs the comfortable, turning people from foolishness to wisdom in every area: e. g. , learning to conciliate and to build constructive relationships in family, church, workplace, and neighborhood; attitudes and practices regarding finances and material possessions; responding to physical health or illness, to wealth or poverty, to success or failure, to acceptance or rejection; self-and other deception; addictive behaviors; the gamut of emotions, whether dysphoric (e. . , anger, depression, anxiety, fear, guilt) or euphoric (e. g. , love, happiness, joy, gratitude, confidence); decision-making; the response to suffering and bereavement; and so forth. In relation to using the Bible as a counseling tools it is best summed by Walker (2005) the Bible is sufficient to provide a systematic approach to counseling. The Bible pr ovides and models both counsel and counseling, teaching us to do likewise, with the intention of changing and sustaining people.

This shows that all of the members in McDonald have good relationship with each other which is very good and they have to keep on working in this way in order to be the number one fast food all around the world.mcdonald company has some ethical and unethical advertisements which are very important and it will be described in the other paragheraphs that shows how does the entity work and how do they succeed in the business how do they advertise and whey ways do they use in order to rich their goles.mcdonal is a company which has a lot of branches and also a lot of campaigns all over the world and the number of foods that they have is also a lot which shows that they have good corporation and good management and good agreement which is very good for the company. They have all of hamburgers and a lot of chickens which is very good and tasty and many people like it and when they eat it there are happy with it because the price is also good so makes people happy in all of functions. the good thing about mc Donald is comparing to the other fast foods like KFC they have both hamburger and chicken but in KFC they just have chicken which for those people which dont like chicken they can eat hamburger in case of chicken so they have the right to if they dont like hamburger they choose the chicken or the opposite thing which is very good and its made for everybody in the organization. McDonald has a lot of workers and employees in the world which all of them know what they have to do in their job and what are the important t thing that they have to do and how do they have to act in their branches with people all of these people are been trained so that none of the people which they visit McDonald get upset form the acts that the employee does so it a very good decision that McDonald made for its people. 2.0 Ethical Advertisements of McDonald Company McDonald is very organized company which they have a lot advertisement all over the world which all of their advertisement are really good and proper which all the people when they see the advertisement the automatically visit McDonald branches to taste the new sandwich or new facilities that McDonald brought in and McDonald has a lot of advertising in their campaigns which for example they have internet in their branches and also they have coffee which they dont had coffee before they only had sandwiches but now they have breakfast as well so this makes people to take their laptops and visit McDonald and have a breakfast with coffee and enjoy . McDonald its a really nice place and the people enjoy it and also its very friendly place that all of the people when thy enter McDonald they are happy when they see the logo of McDonald which looks like a nice smile in yellow color and the other thing that is good about the McDonald is that ten price are good and the cost of everything that you eat is not a lot and so many people so it does not matter they are rich or poor they can eat McDonald whenever they want this shows that McDonald has a good relationship with all its customers not only poor or only right its designed for all the people in the world which is very good and this makes them successful in their corporation. 3.0 Ethical Advertisement of McDonald Part 2 Another advertisement that McDonald does is in the football stadium that we see the logo of McDonald this shows that they spend a lot amount of number for their advertisement which is very large amount of money and they do a lot of these kind of advertisement in the year which is good and bad the good part is good that to advertise about your company but the bad part is that in case of advertising by this amount of money its better to help people who dont have house to live and they dont have food so McDonald it was better for them to give food to the poor people rather that advertising in this way which is not good and ethical way so they could have give food to tem in order to making them fell that why did we not eat McDonald ever so in case of this it was better to give them try McDonald which was very good thing and it was good for McDonald reputation as well. McDonald also have a lot of logos in different manners which are very interesting and when people look at it they will really like it for example when they had their first branch of coffee shop they had the coffee in the picture which was looking like a hamburger but if you see it properly it looks like a coffee which was very interesting and they had another example like a cow which was on the box that this shows that all of the foods that McDonald has is fresh that they kept the cow there to show that all of our foods are fresh and it was very interesting for the people and people liked the advertising the McDonald made for them to make them happy . 4.0 Ethical Advertisement of McDonald Part 3 Another ethical advertisement that McDonald has is they have very good consternation on the childrens and they have respect for the childrens for example they have happy meal for the children which it has toys in side it and make s the kids happy and it also made them loyal customers of McDonald and its not only because of the food it is also because of the toys which attracts the kids and they always want to east McDonald this shows that McDonald uses good strategies and good ways that how to attract the kids and also the other generation of people and also the middle age of people to come in McDonald and have the food this shows that they are fowling the right way in their business which is very good as we can see it they are really successful in their company because they are always becoming better and becoming bigger that this is very good they say that the smile of the McDonald is becoming bigger that shows that they want to make all the people all over the world happy and it a very good strategic that McDonald is using in the company. 5.0 Unethical Advertisement of McDonald Company Unethical advertisement of McDonald company is that they have a lot of advertisement which cost a lot for example in the stadium and in the billboards and everywhere ere this kind of advertisement is not good because they can save this money and giving it to the people which dont have house to live or spending this money in other was like making schools for the poor people and a lot of examples like these that McDonald has to do in order to make all the people in the world happy if their aim is this toward their business and they have use keep away form these kind of worlds so they dont have problem in the future but the good thing is that McDonald has a good management which they will never have problem but they have to make all the people have its not nice that the people which they dint have money be sad or un happy so they can save this money and giving it to the people which dont have house to live or spending this money in other was like making schools for the poor people and a lot of examples like these that McDonald has to do in order to make all the people in the world happy if their aim is this toward their business and they have use keep away form these kind of worlds so they dont have problem in the future but the good thing is that McDonald has a good management which they will never have problem but they have to make all the people have its not nice that the people which they dint have money be sad or un happy so people and a lot of examples like these that McDonald has to do in order to make all the people in the world happy if their aim is this toward their business and they have use keep away form these kind of worlds so they dont have problem in the future but the good thing is that McDonald has a good management which they will never have problem but they have to make all the people have its not nice that the people which they dint have money be sad or un happy and fell good. . . McDonald has to give them free food in order to make them happy so everybody in the world feels happy about McDonald which is very good. The other thing which was not good about the McDonald was that they before had hamburgers which was made by worms which was not good so in the countries which they have Islam in their religious they cannot eat these king of food so they came up with the new hamburger and the kept a hall name in side of it so to tell the Muslim people this food is hall to eat is which was a good decision they McDonald made for the people. 6.0 Comparing McDonald with its Competitors McDonald haves a lot of competitors which they also have fast foods in the world but the good thing about the McDonald is that they have made and image in peoples mind that all of the people in the world like McDonald and they like to eat McDonald which is very good and the McDonald competitors are really strong and good competitors which they also have good and a lot of costumes but there are not as the famous that McDonald is because form small to big people everybody knows McDonald but the other fast foods company maybe ton all of the people knee them as they know McDonald this shows that the strategy and the etches that they use was very good and this shows that they were following the ethical ways in their business which is very good and now they have accomplish the goal that they wanted and now they have their costumers all over the world which is very good and the other companies also have their costumers but not like McDonald and then other issue that is McDonald dont have delivery that this shows that the already have a lot of customers that they dont need to have delivery but the other competitors they have delivery . McDonald had a plan that they dont have delivery their plan was that they dont have it because people come in to McDonald branches and enjoy their eating there and just come out of the house and feel happy which was very good that they made people come out from their house and visit the branched s and eat their food there which was very good planning by the management of McDonald that made its customers happy and enjoy eating food in their restaurant. 7.0 McDonald Ethical Strategies McDonald company has a lot of strategies in their business which that med them to become on elf the best fast food restaurants in the world and they use strategies and ethics like they have use the standards and also they try all the facts and the fictions in the company and what are the peoples choice of food whey king of food do people like when they enter a resonant these all the question that McDonald has answer to it order to see what people like in the restaurant and base on that they made their hamburgers and the meals that they have n their restrains and the coffee and jukes that they have kept there in the resonance that shows that McDonald cars a lot about people which is very good and they knew now what people like that is the reason that the made the marabou for the people company has a lot of strategies in their business which that med them to become on elf the best fast food restaurants in the world and they use strategies and ethics like they have use the standards and also they try all the facts and the fictions in the company and what are the peoples choice of food whey king of food do people like when they enter a resonant these all the question that McDonald has answer to it order to see what people like in the restaurant and base on that they made their hamburgers and the meals that they have n their restrains and the coffee and jukes that they have kept there in the resonance that shows t which live in Arab countries which was a good decision that the found out to make a sandwich that can fit into Arab cultures which was very good and then the maid they made the Mc Arabia for the Arab people and many people except the Arab also like it these shows that they have good activity of working and this shows that they not only make food and serve food they plan also for the future that what foods to bring in the future for the people and also for the charity they also have plans that they tell people to help people and also they have draw in the world cup of football and also the had a pizza cuff which also was mad for the Indian which they like spicy food so this shows that they have very good relationship with the people and the look after that what people exactly like in the food so that they can make the foods like the kind which people like it and all of these to show that there is very good and proper management in the McDonald and it will be very good also of their reputation in the future their reputation is already good but it will become better and better as it goes in then front so McDonald has to continue this way in order to be the best in the world. 8.0 McDonald Analysis McDonald company also analysis everything in the restaurants that they kept a new role that show the kitchens to the customers that how to they make the foods that people what are they eating which was very good and to tell people to be sure that what are they eating and to see how the foods are making and also McDonald company also analysis everything in the restaurants that they kept a new role that show the kitchens to the customers that how to they make the foods that people what are they eating which was very good and to tell people to be sure that what are they eating and to see how the foods are making and its very good way that know how the foods are being made that McDonald is using it and also the McDonald company also analysis everything in the restaurants that they kept a new role that show the kitchens to the customers that how to they make the foods that people what are they eating which was very good and to tell people to be sure that what are they eating and to see ho w the foods are making and also McDonald company also analysis everything in the restaurants that they kept a new role that show the kitchens to the customers. Marriage in Pride and Prejudice and in Jane Eyre :: essays research papers

Most of the novels we read involve marriages .Discuss the dialectics involved in the marriage of Pride and Prejudice and another novel of your choice. Marriage in the 19th century has always been an important issue and thus, it is manifested in most of the novels of the 19th century. Pride and Prejudice as well as Jane Eyre are two novels in which the dialectics of marriage are strongly present. In the opening of Pride and Prejudice, the narrator claims that â€Å"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife; thus, foretelling that the theme of marriage will be the most dominant throughout the novel .This sentence is true because it is only logical to say so if one believes that the ultimate goal of a man or even a woman is to marry. However, this truth is fixed in the minds of the few families in the novel and thus, it is not a universal truth. From the moment Elizabeth and Darcy meet, Elizabeth is blinded by prejudice and Darcy by pride though they like each other. Only when they admit the wrong they have done, especially Elizabeth, they are to be married. She should accept the right of Darcy to have some sense of pride toward his class and she has to learn to comply to social rules .therefore, it is not about marriage as much it is about learning to comply to rules. Elizabeth and Darcy will meet on common grounds. It is about finding moderation between nature represented by Elizabeth and art represented by Darcy. Only then the marriage would be successful. Furthermore, Charlotte Lucas who has no fortune settles for marriage with Mr. Collins, the arrogant, self important, materialistic and boring man. She thinks that it is better to be married than not, even if she doesn’t like him and he is not likely to make her happy. Elizabeth is so upset about charlotte marrying Collins because she is afraid if being forced into a similar marriage or ending up as having no money, no marriage .Concerning the civil status and economic right of woman , Austen is hitting at the patriarchal society. The nightmare of not marrying is worse than marrying someone like Mr. Collins. On the other hand, Charlotte Bronte, author of Jane Eyre is an anti-Austenian. Her heroine Jane breaks all proper behavior for a girl her age and in her social situation, as an orphan, when she is a child.

National Debt :: Economy Economics Argumentative Papers

National Debt The national debt is an issue of great concern to the economy. Each year, the debt amounts to a higher percentage of GDP. As we have studied, the debt weighs down the economy, and the interest payments are consuming an ever larger share of the national budget. Something must be done to avert this crisis from coming to a head. We need to begin today, by making spending cuts ACROSS THE BOARD. These cuts must be enacted sensitively, however, in order to keep the economy stable as we move toward a balanced budget. The need for spending cuts across the board cannot be understated. For just one example of how imbalanced our policies are, notice how 63% of all entitlements go to retirees. 93% of these are NON-MEANS-TESTED. Federal spending on the 65 and over age group is 11 times greater than on the 18 and under age group.^1 We must pay off the debt, but the current Republican plan should be votoed. First of all, it leaves welfare for the well-to-do, Social Security, and defense off the table. In fact, the current plan calls for a $34,000,000,000 increase in defense spending.^2 (Doesn't the military have the discipline to learn to be more cost-effective?) At the same time, the Republicans are calling for a $245,000,000,000 tax cut. Their plan is supposed to restrict the growth of Medicare. This is a good start, but they have no definite plans on how to restrict it. Basically, the Republican plan aims to balance the budget entirely at the expense of the young (for whom we are trying to balance the budget), the environment that they will inherit, the poor, and the weak, while sparing the rich, thealready-by-far most powerful military in the world, the elderly (the ones who accrued most of this debt for us),
